Esther Byrt is an award winning mixed media artist based in Alberta, Canada.
Esther fell in love with art as soon as she was able to hold a crayon. Later a love of science fiction and fantasy led to an appreciation of the art of Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo, an influence that sometimes shows in her art. When time allowed she experimented with sketching, oil, acrylic and watercolour painting. Like many adults, family and job obligations derailed her art pursuits for a number of years and Esther trained as a computer technician and ran a computer repair business.
When she signed up for a Photoshop course by Sebastian Michaels it sparked a passion for digital art. Now she has the means to use her love for art and photography together and the techniques to combine them into her vision. Esther draws inspiration from everything around her. She is constantly searching the landscape for a great picture and staring at strangers thinking they would make a great model. Creativity is a daily part of her life and she continues to explore other mediums.
Most of her work celebrates the beauty of the human form. That is combined with colour and lighting to create pieces that transport the viewer away from the real world. Nature also calls to her and you will find a smattering of animals and haunting vistas as well.
